Housekeeping does a half..... job of cleaning and apparently five days of staying doesn't qualify you for clean sheets. Even asking the front desk for clean sheets we still didn't get them changed. They offered to let me change the sheets, I politely declined. I find this interesting because I believe that they aren't charging anyone any less for their rooms than they did before the pandemic. Also, make sure that you don't get a room on the same side of the building as their basketball court. People play from 7:30am to after 11pm even though the court is supposed to be shut down by 10pm. The front desk on one occasion did go out to shut it down but by the time they got out there they had left the court on there own. Now this did take place over a 10 night period of time so it covered work nights as well as the weekend. Hope that you have a better stay than I.
I only stayed 1 night in a double queen suite, but had a full refrigerator, iron, hair dryer, 2 televisions, comfortable beds, plenty of room! My room had a problem with the door not wanting to open, but the front desk came up and said sometimes you have to pull up on the handle instead of pushing down. It worked. I did tend to get lost a few times trying to get to the rooms of other family staying there. All the halls look the same. They could use a few more room directional signs. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic with much more food variety than I expected.
Well. I paid extra to have a one bedroom suite that has a veranda view. The rooms a/c was out. Was told this after I mentioned about the 1st floor reservation. Was given a different room on the 2nd floor. Door wouldn't open because of the door jam being warped. Then gave us a room that somebody was already staying in. Them gave us a room that smelled of urine, finally got a room on the 3rd floor that was decent. Then the cable went out for two of the five days I was there. All of this with us going up and down the elevator with stuff in hand. To top it all off, the guest services hostess was very unpleasant. I have never, in 43 years of living, had such a horrible hotel experience. I will never stay at a Homewood Garden Suites by Hilton again.
I initially accidentally pocket typed a three-star review. Friendly staff. Initially they had us assigned to a room where the air conditioner wasn't working, but they quickly realized this and moved us. The staff handled this difficult situation with poise and grace (apparently many rooms had the A/C out that day and needed maintenance.) Great location. Spacious suite.
A wonderful staff that accommodated us during our stay. Pool is cold and hot tub is hot. Would definitely stay again. Thank yall for being so helpful while we stayed for my friends wedding.
