Such a cute sandwich place close to CSU campus. A friend suggested we stop by for lunch. We both had the daily special which was the Poltergeist sandwich. Such a strong mustard flavor--it was so delicious! I also had a side of potato salad and that was a great addition. While we were waiting, we were checked on multiple times by staff. It made me feel well taken care of. I will definitely be back.

My Cobb salad took 40 minutes and was lame. A bed of field greens and a few little shredded pieces of cheese and turkey in it. I’ve liked the sandwiches in the past so was very surprised and how poor a salad they charged $12 for.

If you're craving that type of sandwich that doesn't photograph well but tastes amazing, and is made by a bunch of college students in the most chaotic-but-somehow-still-functional open kitchen, then this is your place. Everything I've had is delicious, always fills you up. January 14th is my current fav.

This place is the best! The food is amazing - they make many of the meats in house (corned beef, turkey etc), the sandwich combos are amazing and pack so much flavor! I also love the veggie burger (made in house), salads and soups! So nice that a "sandwich" place has other options too! The beer selection is very well thought out and the cocktails are creative and very tasty! All the people that work there are so nice and attentive and plus your food/drinks come out super fast! The new owners have done a fabulous job of cleaning the place and restoring it to it's former glory. I especially love that they hung the old sign from out front right in the bar. PS it's a great place to watch sports!! Go check it out!

I’m happy to see the Pickle Barrel back open! It is my favorite sandwich shop in Fort Collins. That being said, their sandwich is different than before, not necessarily bad, just different. My suggestions for the Pickle Barrel to improve are to include American cheese as an option, thin slice your meat for your subs (it creates such a better ratio!), don’t overdo it on the dressing (don’t skimp on it, but don’t pour so much that there’s a giant puddle on the plate either), and go back to using a traditional sub roll. I don’t know how they are currently toasting sandwiches, but toasting with a grill and steam rather than a toaster oven makes a huge difference and really enhances the sandwich. Like I said, the sandwich wasn’t bad, but I think with some improvements on ingredient proportions and changing around the bread and meats a bit would make a huge difference! I will still be back and look forward to any improvements!
